What a significant first anniversary…
I remember the 9th of April of the last year, I was watching American tanks entering the neighborhood of my uncles’ house (since we left our house because of the heavy battles near the Airport), Iraqis were happy at that time, and American soldiers were waving their hands greeting the celebrating Iraqis.
I cried.
And my hate to Saddam and his historical mistakes increased.
The number of Iraqis killed at Falluja in the last 6 days reached to 450, and another 1000 injured. Bombing the city with air fighters (F-16 and F-18) didn’t stop even after the announcement of the 24 hours suspension, Kimmitt says that today’s attacks are just for “self defense”. Kimmitt was creative today, I was watching an interview with him at AlJAzeera, where he stared for a couple of seconds and said: “duhm… Your correspondent at Faluja is reporting lies… dumhmh”!!
What the!!! I mean!!! Look who’s talking!!!
Even if AlJazeera are exaggerating and lying, and they are, how could someone like Rumsfeld or Kimmitt say a word about (lying)? They are the stars of the Liars Daily Show.
The CPA and GC are falling apart, two Iraqi ministers resigned so far, the minister of foreign affairs yesterday, and the minister of the human rights today (Nori AlBadran and “Abd ElBaset” Turki). One of the few respected members of the GC, Mr. AlBachachi, called the American Army attacks on Falluja as “illegal”, he described what is going as a “collective punishment”.
The Friday Prayer at Um AlMa`arek mosque was enormous, thousands and thousands of Iraqis came from all over Baghdad, and for the first time Iraqis have both Shia and Sunni speeches at the same mosque. The supreme Sunni board decided to ask Iraqis to go on strike next week. Majid, my brother, was there too. He says that when AsSadr representative gave his speech… people were shouting and yelling “Yes Yes for AsSadr”. I think this would confuse the Sunni/Shia vision of Bush and Bremer.
Tomorrow will witness the Shia marches to Karbala, which AsSadr will try to invest it as much as he can, to add more Iraqis to the uprising. AlMahdi Army is controlling the city of Karbala completely.
I feel very sad for the kidnapping incidents, today another four Italians and two Americans we kidnapped. I hope all of the hostages would be safe and go back to their home countries. I really feel sad for those poor innocent people being kidnapped and killed, including Iraqis and American soldiers.
Was it really worth it?
Don’t you think this is the right time to ask Bush about his weapons of mass destruction? or his administration will simply erase that excuse from the books of history?
Does little shrub have any other answers rather than his broken record?
