Dance, Hospitality, and Bribes
Adnan Al Janabi is an educated person. I know him since many years through a mutual friend. He studied, lived and worked in Europe for a long time. He was an Important person in Iraq's politicseven before the war, as a big tribe leader, and a member of the Iraqi parliament.
unfortunately, he is playing a very bad role in the post-occupation Iraq. Al-Janabi took a part of the Allow(ie) government as a minister of state. I really cant understand why and how can some people sell themselves to the devil, and for what. For money? for a better house and car? I really don't know.
AlJanabi was humiliated on a US checkpoint some weeks ago. As my friend Ghaith explained on the Guardian at that time: [Al-Janabi] was arrested, handcuffed and insulted by US soldiers manning a checkpoint leading into the Green Zone where he worked. Only when a senior bodyguard of the prime minister intervened was he released. That same day he resigned from government.
"You know, and other brother ministers know," he wrote, "how many insults we suffer on the hands of the occupation forces, and the Iraqi people suffer from far more. We have been patient telling ourselves maybe we can do something ourselves to reduce the effect of the occupation. But arresting one of the ministers in such a humiliating way can mean only one thing: that the sovereignty the security council talked about means nothing to the occupation force."
I was really surprised to read this for two reasons. Not because a US soldier was rude to a minister, this is normal, but because both Al-Janabi and Ghaith are changing their shameful support to the US invasion and occupation.
I smiled, and felt some more hope.
but not for so long.
When the first Australian soldier was killed a couple of weeks ago, I wrote an open letter to the Aussies asking them to put more pressure on their government to pull out their military forces from Iraq. I really believe it is the time for all the fake international military presence in Iraq to end, and it is the time to expose the illegal bush-blair occupation. But for Adnan al Janabi, naaaaaaahh..
what did I read in the same day?
Al-Janabi talking again!! giving the Australian government the best cover for keeping their occupying forces in Iraq, and not just that, but asking them to add more forces!!!!
Iraqi politician Adnan al-Janabi said Iraq would welcome more Australian troops in the reconstruction process, at the expense of Americans whom he described as insensitive
The quote from the humiliated Iraqi minister is being marketed by the Australian government as "IRAQ Wants Troop to Stay"!!!!
This "thing" is IRAQ?!?!?!?!
But anyway, he accused US forces of "insensitivity".
How tough,,,
fair enough,,,
The minister with no dignity is now the Allow(ie)'s coalition campaign manager. He had a very interesting analysis last week, when Allawi's political party handed cash to journalists in an effort to ensure coverage of its campaign in the upcoming elections, news reports say.
Allawi's party officials gave cash in envelopes after a press conference in Baghdad on January 10, the Financial Times reported on its Web site, FT.com. Each envelope had a $100 bill in it, and mostly went to Arab TV reporters.
A "gift" to ensure "coverage", is little bushy exporting his ideas or what?
Responses from Allawi's people were contradictory. The Guardian of London quoted Allawis spokeman, Tahir Al-Naqib, saying It was a mistake, it was done by one person acting as an individual."
A "mistake" done by an "individual". Does this ring any Abu-Ghreib Prison bells?
At the same time, Allawi's coalition campaign manager Adnan Al-Janabi told the BBC, "We have no excuse in your culture, but I'm from a tribal background and in ours it is just hospitality."
HOSPITALITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I am from a tribal background too, and in ours it is a bribe.
BRIBE
But the best quote ever for the minister is this: "If we wanted to bribe the press, we would have to pay a lot more."
Hmmmmm...
interesting...
Maybe his highness can tell us more about the one million barrels oil bribe he got for his fake Lebanese company, Al-Hilal.
I'm sure that is a real bribe.
The US occupation brought some Chalabis from outside, and created dozens or new home-made Chalabis.
